Iris out of the Inkwell is my debut graphic novel, exploring the relationship between creativity and distraction in the modern world. In an age of endless tirades of online content, it is easy as a creative to feel like you are distracted from the thing you care about most: creating. The novel asks whether art can function as a beacon of hope against the anxieties associated with the digital space. Through the symbolism of strange objects such as a top hat, a nondescript glowing oblong, and a mysterious box, it addresses pertinent contemporary concerns about the future of art.
